Tips for Travel to the U.S.

Below are recent U.S. travel and visa policy updates that may affect attendees traveling to the Annual Meeting.

Fee Updates for Some International Attendees - Effective October 2025

  • A new US $250 Visa Integrity Fee applies to many non-immigrant visas starting October 1, 2025.
  • ESTA applications (for eligible Visa Waiver country citizens) now cost US $40.

Exit/Entry Photo Requirement - Effective December 26, 2025

  • Department of Homeland Security will require all non-U.S. citizens to be photographed when entering and exiting the United States.
  • No action required in advance; screening is automatic.

Visa Interview Location Rules - Effective November 1, 2025

  • Nonimmigrant visa applicants—including attendees applying for B-1 visitor visas—should schedule interviews only in their country of residence or nationality.
  • Appointment times can vary; apply early.

Screening & Re-Entry Caution - Effective November 2025

  • Foreign nationals may experience enhanced screening and document checks.
  • To avoid delays, keep items from the Attendee Checklist section handy during travel.
  • Recommended: Arrive at the airport earlier than usual.

ESTA Reminders

  • Apply for ESTA as early as possible (minimum 72 hours before travel).
  • ESTA is not available to travelers who have visited Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Somalia, or Yemen since March 2011.
  • Must reapply if your passport has changed.

Passport Validity Requirement

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay in the U.S.
