FAQs
SightLine at ASCRS is a new initiative of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA).
This annual gathering of commercial stakeholders will take place this year on Thursday, April 24 from 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., in Los Angeles, California, ahead of the 2025 ASCRS Annual Meeting and the ASOA Annual Meeting.
Attendees within the ophthalmology space will come together at SightLine at ASCRS to discuss and debate the state of commercial ophthalmology, the direction the market is headed, and explore disruptive approaches to financial viability.
The business of healthcare is evolving rapidly, and ophthalmology is not immune to the tides of change. To sustain and grow our community, it will require the best minds working together to strategize and execute a vision that takes ophthalmology forward into the next decade. SightLine will provide a forum for industry, administrators, and surgeons to collaborate on technologies and care delivery ideas that will forge a more sustainable financial future.
The goal of SightLine at ASCRS is to have a dedicated day ahead of the ASCRS Annual Meeting to galvanize key leaders to strategize and ideate solutions for the most pressing issues facing the business of ophthalmology.
SightLine will examine the state of financial health of the ophthalmic space and what steps need to be taken to improve the outlook for various stakeholders.
SightLine at ASCRS is not an innovation meeting looking to advance patient care, rather it’s a brand-new business forum that centers around ideas and discussion that will advance the long-term financial health of commercial ophthalmology as a whole.
The program will, however, contain one element of exploring innovative early-stage technologies. SightLine at ASCRS will now host the highly anticipated Winning Pitch Challenge session as its unique approach in supporting early-stage technologies serves the SightLine goal of financial health.
Each year the SightLine at ASCRS meeting will have a theme. There will also be a few reoccurring topics and topics built around them for that year.
The theme for the inaugural 2025 meeting is “Exploring Payment Pathways Beyond Coverage.”
For more details on topics, please reference the “Agenda” tab on this website.
