Course Description
Course will introduce concepts critical in the design of new surgical instruments as well as present considerations in proper handling, processing, sterilization and reuse of instruments. Discussion topics will also include common design errors, and manufacturing limitations, failure points in handling and processing, tips to improve device longevity, and considerations for single use versus reusable instruments.

Educational Objective
Improve their ability to use surgical instruments sustainably and ensure maximum longevity.
