2020 National Sight Week: You Stepped Up for Sight!

Operation Sight patients were in a dominos effect of losing their vision, employment and independence. Our Operation Sight volunteers truly Stepped Up for Sight during National Sight Week (October 18-24).

Over the past 7 days, our volunteers delivered our 5,000th charitable cataract surgery, in addition to giving sight to over 600 patients in 2020. Because of them, our reach is greater and future Operation Sight patients will have increased chances of a volunteer match within their local community.

I celebrate their participation, generosity and compassion. Please visit our social media platforms (FacebookTwitterLinkedIn and Instagram) to see the impact and hope that has been restored.

Operation Sight volunteers put patients on a path to receive the care they deserve and to continue the chain of generosity. Their collective efforts speak to the power our ophthalmic community has to share their gift and skill with the thousands of patients in need of their sight.

"My independence is back. The stress of losing my eyesight is gone. I try to help others that may need help in ways I am able, in order to pass on the good…"
