Course will showcase challenging capsular scenarios. Videos will include anterior capsulorhexis challenges, fibrotic capsule, weak zonules, capsular exfoliations, small rhexis nuclear emulsification, continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis rescue, Argentinean flag sign prevention, flap motility sign for pre-equatorial anterior capsular tears and safe phacoemulsification techniques. Course will also discuss posterior capsular rupture (PCR) and identification of flap motility sign, end-point safe phacoemulsification with ECCE conversion, PCR prevention with IOL scaffold, PCR during emulsification, and PPC with preexisting PCR. Compromised capsular support with scleral fixation and bag IOL complex fixation will also be discussed. Pearls and pitfalls of capsular complexities will improve surgical outcomes.
