ASCRS•ASOA Annual Meeting

      

The 2018 ASCRS•ASOA Annual Meeting, April 13–17, will provide high-quality education for anterior segment physicians, practice managers, ophthalmic technicians and nurses and support staff. Registrants of the ASCRS and ASOA programs may attend both programs but must register in their designated category specific to their credentials.

Registration Fees

Includes badge, printed program, all sessions and regular courses and entrance to the Exhibit Hall, ASCRS•ASOA Launch Party, ASOA Celebration and the Film Festival Awards Ceremony.

ASCRS Subspecialty Day- Friday, April 13, 2018

Subspecialty Day fee includes badge, printed program, breakfast, lunch, breaks, admittance to the ASCRS Subspecialty Day Exhibit Hall and all ASCRS Subspecialty Day educational sessions on Friday, April 13. Registration for the Subspecialty Day Only category does not require membership dues.

Registrants of the ASCRS and ASOA programs are welcome to attend either or both.

When registering for the 2018 ASCRS•ASOA Annual Meeting be sure to do so through the official CDS system, here. We have received reports that other companies – not affiliated with ASCRS or ASOA – are posing as official registration vendors. ASCRS•ASOA only guarantees registrations made through CDS. Registrations made outside of the official registration system may result in your registration not being recognized onsite at the meeting. Crossover between the ASOA and Technicians & Nurses programs will be permitted to those registered in the joint registration category only. Those registered for either the ASOA or Technicians & Nurses program will not be allowed to go between the two programs. Registrants of either category are permitted to attend ASCRS courses/paper sessions/symposia. For planning purposes, approximate walking time between ASOA and T&N classrooms in 5 to 10 minutes.

Registration Categories

  • ASCRS Member: An MD, PhD or DO who is a current member of ASCRS. Registration fee does not include annual membership dues. (Note: An MD, PhD, or DO who is a member of ASOA only must join ASCRS and pay appropriate membership dues.)
  • U.S. Young Physician: A MD or DO who is in the first 5 years of practice. No onsite registration
  • U.S. Resident/Fellow: An MD or DO who is currently in a residency or fellowship program. In addition to registration, a letter of verification from your department chair or fellowship sponsor must be submitted to registration@ascrs.org unless you are a current member. All residency/fellowship documentation must be received by March 29, 2018 to be eligible for the discounted rate. Residents or fellows who register onsite will incur full registration fees.
  • International Resident: An MD or DO who is currently in a residency program. In addition to your registration, email a current letter of verification from your department chair and a copy of a picture ID with proof of birth date to registration@ascrs.org. Your registration will not be complete until your documentation is received. All residency documentation must be received by March 29, 2018. No onsite registration.
  • ASOA Member/Nonmember: Practice administrator or other practice management staff; ASOA consultant and vendor members. Physicians cannot register in this category. Technicians & Nurses: Ophthalmic assistants, technicians, technologists and nurses program. Membership is not mandatory. Physicians cannot register in this category.
  • Technicians & Nurses: Ophthalmic assistants, technicians, technologists and nurses program. Physicians cannot register in this category.
  • Joint ASOA/Technicians & Nurses: Applies to those interested in attending both the ASOA and Technicians & Nurses programs. Crossover between the ASOA and Technicians & Nurses programs will be permitted only to those registered in the joint registration category. Those registered for only the ASOA or Technicians & Nurses program will not be allowed to go between the two programs. Registrants of either category are permitted to attend ASCRS courses, paper sessions and symposia.
  • Integrated Eye Care Optometrists: Optometrists (ODs) can register under this category only and must certify that they are one of the following:
    • Employed by an ophthalmologist
    • Employed by a medical school (not a college of optometry)
    • Employed by a managed-care provider
    • Employed by the military
    • Employed by industry/manufacturer
    • Employed by a corporate center (TLC, LCA, etc.)

    Attendance at, or participation in, ASCRS and ASOA Annual Meeting programs, events, courses, presentations or other activities does not qualify an optometrist to perform surgery, does not qualify as continuing medical education and does not justify claims to surgical expertise or licensure.

  • Industry Representative: Manufacturers and other corporate personnel who do not have exhibit space but wish to attend the Annual Meeting. No solicitation is permitted. This includes attendees who plan on attending the exhibit hall only. Physicians cannot register in this category.
  • Guests: Guests 21 years of age and over are required to pay a registration fee. Fee includes badge, printed program, exhibit hall entrance, ASCRS•ASOA Launch Party, ASOA Celebration and the Film Festival Awards Ceremony. Members, potential members or staff cannot register in this category. Entrance into sessions/courses is not included.

Annual Membership Dues

Membership dues for member registration categories must be current through April 30, 2018. The registration fee does not include membership dues. New or renewing ASCRS•ASOA members may add membership dues at time of registration. Membership Expiration Dates can be found at ascrs.org. Log in and go to My Account or call ASCRS at 703-591-2220.

Badge Information

Badges and programs will not be mailed. For the best registration experience, remember to bring your confirmation email with you onsite to retrieve your badge. Lost badge reprint fee is $180.

Payment

Registrations received without payment will not be processed.

Payment (in U.S. funds) accepted by VISA, AMEX, MasterCard or Discover, wire transfer, travelers check and personal check. Registrations received without payment will not be processed. Payment by wire: Email registration@ascrs.org for wire instructions. Add $35 to wire transfers for bank fees. Wires must be received by March 29, 2018. Credit card and cash only will be accepted onsite.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

All cancellations and requests for refunds must be received no later than March 29, 2018. A handling fee of $150 will be deducted from each canceled registration. The membership portion of the registration New/Renew fee is nonrefundable. No refunds will be given after March 29, 2018. Submit cancellation requests to registration@ascrs.org.
